Laser engraved Blackberry

Author: admin - Categories: Etching - Tags: , , ,

Despite RIM’s continued delays with the stateside launch of the Blackberry Bold, they can currently be obtained in Canada for a cool grand (yes, that’s one thousand dollars for a phone) which is apparently where our customer MGeezy got his.  With high def blu ray video and tons of features, it’s got everything except a bottle opener.  Its a Blackberry on steroids and all our Laser Master could say was: “I WANT IT.”

As you can see, the new Blackberry Bold laser engraves beautifully and we are looking forward to laser etching many more as soon as they are available in the US.  If you’d like to check out more laser engraving examples visit Etchstar’s Flickr collection of Blackberry laser engravings here.

Military iPods Do Double Duty

Author: admin - Categories: Etching - Tags: , , , ,

Soldiers in the U.S. Army are increasingly using iPods as field translators according to the Apple Insider.  The U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division has been using modified iPods loaded with an Arabic language app from Vcom 3D known as Vcommunicator Mobile in order to quickly translate and communicate with the Iraqui locals.

Inspired by this bit of innovation, we put together a collection of officially licensed military seals to create custom laser etched and engraved military iPods as well as www.custommilitarygear.com for customized carabiners, pocket knives, mini Mag-lites and more.

Now you can create something personal and useful to send to your favorite serviceperson serving in our military.

Author: admin - Categories: Etching - Tags: , , , ,

This week at the TechCrunch50 conference, Ashton Kutcher’s Katalyst Media announced the launch of “Blah Blah Blah”, a new web series based on Todd Goldman’s Blah Girls characters.  The Blah Girls are an animated clique of teenagers who enjoy providing their commentary on the latest entertainment themed news and happenings — think Beavis & Butthead meets Perez Hilton for girls. Todd Harris Goldman is the artist behind DavidandGoliathtees.com which is one of Etchstar’s most popular art collections for custom laser engraved iPods.  You can even create your very own Blah Girls designed iPod here.
